Subcutaneous Emphysema as Sign of Colon Perforation
A case of subcutaneous emphysema as clinical sign after sigmoid colon perforation, of probable ischemic origin, is presented. A brief description is given of the different conditions that may cause subcutaneous emphysema and their possible formation mechanisms. The rareness of the clinical picture and its unfavorable diagnosis are emphasized. Its behavior in the CT study is described with the keys that allow rapid, certain and orientative diagnosis of the therapeutic attitude.
